What it can look like
Watch the area around—not only the center of—the whorl. A repeatable reduction in density appearance or widening visible zone is more informative than a bright spot in one flash photo.
How to photograph your crown
- Use a fixed position.Place the phone above and slightly behind the head at the same distance.
- Keep light consistent.Use the same room and avoid mixing daylight with overhead light.
- Keep hair condition consistent.Dry, similarly styled hair is easier to compare.
- Capture the full area.Include enough surrounding hair to judge whether the visible zone is changing.
Track progression, not daily variation
Hair grows slowly, while styling changes instantly. Space comparisons far enough apart to reduce noise and keep the original images available beside each other.
