The four views

1. Front
2. Left temple
3. Right temple
4. Crown

Keep enough forehead and surrounding hair visible to orient each image. Avoid extreme close-ups that make distance impossible to recreate.

Build a repeatable setup

Same room

Mark where you stand and where the phone is held.

Same light

Use the same fixtures and similar time of day.

Same hair state

Note dry or wet, styling products and part direction.

Similar length

A haircut can change apparent coverage immediately.

Same camera

Different lenses alter perspective and distance.

Useful interval

Allow enough time to look for a real pattern rather than noise.

Why random photos fail

A dark bathroom image, outdoor selfie and wet-hair photo do not form a reliable progression series. Differences in exposure and strand grouping can be larger than the visible change you are trying to detect.

How Baldly helps

Baldly keeps the capture sequence consistent and stores a chronological scan history. It can exclude low-confidence scans from trend interpretation rather than giving every image equal weight.
