Why hair counts are difficult

Normal shedding varies and people rarely count consistently. Shower frequency, hair length and brushing habits change how much hair appears at one time.

Why photos still help

Standardized images can document whether visible density or the hairline changes while shedding is happening. They cannot establish why it is happening.

Do not stop medication on your own

If you suspect a medicine or treatment is involved, speak with the prescribing clinician rather than stopping it abruptly. [source]
